Lakes of the Novikovsky coal mine. In the Soviet period they were quarries for mining coal, but after being abandoned, they became pools for rainwater and due to a high content of sulfosalts and germanates the color of these lake got so turquoise.
When your finally reach your destination a stunning panoramic view of the local creations of nature opens up. Having climbed the 51-meter-high mountain you may feel as if you are looking at the island from the side. It gives an extraordinary feeling of flight. From the upper part of the cape, you can see as far as Cape Pavlovicha in the south.
Beyond it is the utmost southeastern point of Sakhalin – Cape Aniva. The mountain is surrounded by the pristine water, fresh air and stony landscapes. The beauty is indescribable and on a sunny day it is nice to relax and enjoy nature here.

07:00 Gathering of the tour participants (the railway terminal of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk), boarding the bus.
09:00 Arrival in Novikovo Village.
10:00 Arrival at the Blue Lakes. Guided excursion around three lakes. Light meal.
11:30 Departure to Cape Eustathia. Free time. Guided excursion around the cape.
13:00 Tourist lunch: fish soup, Korean-style salads, grilled food, tea with buns, fruit drink.
15:30 Departure from Cape Eustathia.
18:00 Arrival in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
